This compact, solid-state switching unit from Catek is designed to take the place of an entire array of circuit breakers, fuses, and relays! Power your ignition system, fuel pumps, cooling fans, lights, and even your wipers directly from the module. Eight separate channels can handle up to 120 Amps total (2x 30A, 4x 15A, with 2x 10A outputs for wipers), with automatic overload protection. For heavier loads, use the module to trigger a relay or solenoid.
A single M6 input stud accepts battery positive voltage from 8 to 18 volts. Each channel has a pair of LEDs to indicate input and output status on each channel (on, off, or fault) for easy troubleshooting. Each circuit output can be configured with a "soft start" (to prevent overload from electic motors with a heavy initial draw), and can be set to run standard (input-controlled), flashing (1 Hz), timed (turns off automatically), or overrun (runs for several minutes after shut-off). Input triggers can be toggle switch (turn on the switch to trigger, turn off the switch to stop), "edge trigger" (momentary contact to start, momentary contact to stop), or by digital outputs from data acquisition systems or ECUs.
The PDM-8C can also be controlled via CAN-Bus from your ECU or data system.
The base module measures just 108mm x 86mm (4 1/4" x 3 /3/8") and weighs just 220g (8 oz). Draws 0.06 Amps when all circuits are turned off. Note that this will add a parasitic draw to your electrical system, but the configuration memory is non-volatile, so you can disconnect the battery for storage without having to reprogram anything. Includes two 12-pin connector kits so you can assemble your own wiring harness.
