Header wrap will result in a cooler engine compartment. Not only will this help to prevent burns but it can also result in power gain by lowering intake air temperature. It can also help lower oil and water temperatures. Our 1/16 inch thick material will not degrade the header pipes nearly as fast as 1/8 inch thick material. (All header wraps contribute to shorter header life due to the intense heat within the wrap.) A 50 foot roll of header wrap is enough to cover most 4 cylinder headers. Does not contain asbestos.

Safety Wire (Part No. 3129-Size) is an inexpensive way to attach header wrap, but our Stainless Band Clamp Kits (Part Nos. 1835-001 through -004) will provide a very professional-looking installation. Use Thermo-Tec Hi-Heat Coating (Part No. 1836) to protect header wrap and provide a more finished appearance.

Smokes

Comments about Header Wrap, 2" wide x 1/16" thick - 50 foot Roll:

Perfect customer service, great company. I assumed this would stop my heat issue against legs and melting clothing. The Header wrap tape did not turn out well for me. After wrapping MC exhaust pipes and running engine for 5 minutes, wrap began to severely smoke from pipe heat. Unwrapped tape to stop the smoking and found an imprint on chrome pipes. Tape should be used for different purposes.
