The MXq mini dash is the smallest data logging dash display available from AiM. Despite its compact size, it can sample and log data like any other AiM system.
One analog input channel lets you monitor your choice of temperature, pressure, or potentiometer (throttle position, steering position, etc). A CAN expansion input allows you to further expand the dash by adding an AiM ACC Analog-to-CAN Converter, AiM LCU-One Lambda (O2) Controller (Part No. MC-219), or AiM SmartyCam (each sold separately). The MXq can also be connected to many different ECUs to log any data gathered by the ECU. A GPS receiver, 3-axis g-force sensor, and gyroscope are all built in. This is an excellent data logger for those who don't want to get bogged down with too much data!
The super-compact 137mm x 88.4mm (5.39" x 3.48") composite housing is designed to fit the smallest formula car cockpit.* The LCD display backlight can be set by the user to a number of different colors. You can even set the backlight to change in response to an alarm. You can create up to 8 different pages, each with whatever data you want to see. Five configurable shift light LEDs across the top of the housing and 2 configurable alarm LEDs can each be programmed with any of 7 colors. Each alarm can be programmed with a steady or flashing LED, a custom text message on the screen, and multiple conditions (for example, oil pressure below 60 psi and engine speed above 4000 RPM... or over-rev by 500 RPM keeps the light on steady until power-off, but over-rev by 1000 RPM makes the same light flash until data is downloaded... ). The shift lights can be programmed to come on at different RPM for each gear.
The 4GB non-volatile memory can store many hours of information for detailed analysis using AiM's latest Race Studio 3 software. All of the data can be downloaded to your computer using a built-in secure Wi-Fi connection (no cable required). Requires 9 - 15V external power supply.
This kit includes the MXq data logging display and an 6-wire CAN/RS232 ECU wiring harness.** All expansions and sensors are sold separately.
* Despite its size, this dash must be mounted to a stationary structure. It should not be mounted on the steering wheel.
** Wiring harness connections: ECU CAN+, ECU CAN-, RS232TX, RS232RX, +Vb, and Ground. The MXq can also accept an RPM signal or K-Line connection by changing to a different harness (available separately).
