The RS7 Ultra Lite is based on the Bell HP7 helmet used extensively in Formula 1. Further development work by Penske Racing has resulted in an even lighter helmet than the already featherweight RS7 Ultra. The lightweight carbon fiber shell has a very narrow eyeport. Flow-through ventilation is accomplished by special channels in the liner and a total of 13 inlet and outlet vents (2 inlets in the chin bar, 2 inlets above the visor, 5 inlets in the crown, and 4 exhaust outlets in the rear of the shell). The shield friction slider screws and the shield hold-down post have been moved down below the shield pivot screws for better aerodynamic and acoustic performance.

The RS7 Ultra Lite is available in uncoated, semi-matte carbon fiber finish only. (Note that the aerospace-grade carbon fiber used in this helmet is not the reflective 2x2 weave visible in other carbon fiber helmets.) HANS® post anchors are factory-installed. Includes one clear DSAF (dual-pane, anti-fog) shield with a color-keyed visor strip, a hex wrench for the shield hardware, and a drawstring helmet bag. Snell SA2025 and FIA 8859-2024 approved.

SA2025 is the latest Snell Foundation rating for automotive racing helmets. This helmet rating has been developed to provide the best safety protection for auto racing drivers who are restrained in their vehicles. SA2025 helmets are tested for flame retardance, and additional tests ensure that the factory-installed M6 threaded inserts can handle loads from an FHR. An SA-rated helmet may not meet DOT specifications for street use, such as on motorcycles.

SIZING: Helmets should fit as snug as possible without causing discomfort. Measure head circumference around the largest part of the head approximately one inch above the eyebrows and just above the ears. If a one or two layer Nomex hood will be worn with the helmet, it should be worn when measuring head circumference. If a hood is not available, add about 1/4 inch to the circumference measurement for a single layer hood and 1/2 inch for a double layer hood.
