The M.8 is the latest addition to the classic Bell "M" helmet family. The M.8 is perfect for drivers who wears glasses. Features a very large eyeport opening for easy access, with adjustable forehead vents to help reduce fogging. The M.8 replaces the popular M.4 (and the earlier M2), with the same extra-large eye opening. The M.8 is also in extended sizes. If you haven't been able to find a small enough or large enough helmet, chances are you will fit somewhere in the M.8 XXSmall to XXXXLarge sizing! Certified for use with HANS® Devices, with industry-standard M6 female threaded inserts for HANS® anchors factory-installed (anchors sold separately). Available in white or matte black. Includes a drawstring helmet bag, a clear face shield with a color-keyed visor strip, and a hex wrench for the shield hardware. Snell SA2020 approved.
The Snell Foundation SA2020 standard was developed specifically for automotive racing helmets. The "SA" (Special Application") helmet standards are written to ensure that a helmet offers the best safety protection for auto racing drivers who are restrained in their vehicles. SA2020 helmets are tested for flame retardance, and additional tests ensure compatibility with HANS® Devices. Female M6 threaded inserts are pre-installed in the shell for installation of head restraint anchors (sold separately). An SA-rated helmet may not meet DOT specifications for street use, such as on motorcycles.
SIZING: Helmets should fit as snug as possible without causing discomfort. Measure head circumference around the largest part of the head approximately one inch above the eyebrows and just above the ears. If a one or two layer Nomex hood will be worn with the helmet, it should be worn when measuring head circumference. If a hood is not available, add about 1/4 inch to the circumference measurement for a single layer hood and 1/2 inch for a double layer hood.
