The Facet Cube Style are the original solid-state fuel pumps, with no breaker points to wear out. The small footprint and straight-through design is easy to fit in just about any installation.
Facet fuel pumps have low power requirements (about 1 amp at 12 volts), so no fuel pump relay is needed. A built-in pressure relief means no flooding after shutting down a hot engine. Facet pumps operate without troublesome seals or diaphragms, so they are compatible with gasoline, alcohol blends (up to and including E85), diesel, biodiesel, and fuel additives.
This Facet pump is model number 40106 (supercedes Facet number 480616). We stock this pump packaged as Facet kit number FEP12SV, which includes mounting hardware, a 5/16" barbed outlet fitting, and a 74 micron filter with a 5/16" hose barb for the inlet. Military NSN number 2910-01-564-8816.
Maximum fuel delivery 32 gallons per hour. Maximum pressure 4 to 7 psi. Typical flow 18 gallons per hour at 2 psi. 1/8 NPT female ports. This pump does not have an anti-siphon valve or a one-way valve, so fuel can flow in either direction when the pump is off. The negative lead has a ring terminal installed; the positive lead has no connector. 36" dry lift rating.
The 40106 model is the pump recommended by Facet for nearly every late-model domestic street car and truck running a typical 4-barrel downdraft carburetor (Autolite, Carter, Edelbrock, Holley, etc) without adding a fuel pressure regulator. It is also perfect for Pinto-engined FF2000 and S2000 when paired with a pressure regulator. For moderate fuel requirements of engines up to about 180 horsepower, a single pump is usually sufficient. Pumps can also be combined in series or parallel to achieve any required pressure or flow.
