The synthetic base stocks used by Red Line have a natural multigrade property so they do not require large amounts of unstable polymeric thickeners as used in multigrade petroleum oils. The superior high-temperature stability makes these oils ideal for use in turbocharged and air-cooled four-stroke applications. Red Line oils also feature more ZDDP than other street oils, which makes them ideal for use in solid-lifter and flat-tappet engines. Red Line Motorcycle Oils are blended with friction modifiers specifically for wet-clutch applications. For normal street use, Red Line recommends oil changes every 12-18,000 miles for gasoline engines, or at least once per year.
- 10W30 is specified for Kawasaki KX 250F and many 2006 and newer Honda motorcycles.
- 10W40 is specified for many four-stroke motocross bikes, ATVs, and sportbikes.
- 20W50 is formulated for Big Twin engines, including Evolution and Twin Cam.
- 20W60 is recommended for V-Twins in hot climates, Evo and Twin Cams with big bore or stroker kits, and older engines with wider clearances like Knuckleheads, Shovelheads, and Panheads.
