Red Line MT-LV is specially formulated to provide the perfect coefficient of friction for optimum synchronizer performance in manual transmissions and transaxles. This results in smoother shifting at high or low temperatures and enables quicker downshifting.
MT-LV is rated as a 70W75 gear lubricant. It provides GL-4 gear protection and can be used in place of GL-1 and GL-3 gear oils. The synthetic chemistry is fully compatible with both synthetic and natural petroleum fluids. MT-LV does not have the corrosive sulfurs found in GL-5 gear oils, so it will not damage brass synchros. Not for use in differentials with hypoid gears.
This particular oil is specifically recommended to replace OEM transmission lubricants for Mercedes-Benz, BMW/Mini, Dodge/Fiat, VW/Audi, Toyota/Scion, Hyundai/Kia, Mazda, and more.
