Custom Hose Order Form for #4 Stainless Steel Braided PTFE Brake/Clutch Hose

Note: Some standard length hoses with a limited number of end fitting choices are available in our line of Pre-Assembled Size 4 Braided PTFE Racing Hoses. The pre-assembled hoses are made on high-speed production equipment and are therefore more economical than custom-made hoses.

Use this page to specify the length and type of hose ends to be installed on your custom-made hose. If you want more than one hose assembly made to the same exact specifications, you can also specify the quantity of hoses to be made. The default quantity is one. The prices of the hose ends shown below include the cost of installation and proof testing.

Specify the length of the assembled hose: inches

The length of the hose assembly is measured to the center of the sealing surface (the flare for AN fittings). For banjo hose ends, the length is measured to the center of the banjo. The normal length tolerance is 0.25 inch plus 1% of the overall length (plus or minus). Minimum length is 6 inches. Maximum length is 240 inches.

Specify Fitting Alignment:

Important Note: It can be very difficult to determine the fitting alignment without trial and error. When bends are introduced to the hose, the apparent orientation can change significantly. If at all possible, at least one end of the hose should have a straight fitting with a swivel nut (or a straight bulkhead mounted fitting) so that you don't have to worry about fitting alignment. If one end DOES have a straight fitting with a swivel nut (or a straight bulkhead mounted fitting) , just leave the alignment at the 0° default value.

#4 Stainless Steel Braided PTFE Brake/Clutch Hose - per inch

This high-pressure hose has a smooth, extruded PTFE liner with a stainless steel wire braid cover. We recommend 3AN for brake lines for the firmest pedal. Only steel, stainless steel, or high pressure brass fittings should be used with brake lines. Rated for use at -90°F to +450°F.

-2 size is typically used for brake lines on motorcycles and open-wheel cars where the line is enclosed in a suspension arm.
-3 size is the most common size for brake lines and oil pressure gauge lines. It is also popular for clutch lines.
-4 size is ideal for clutch lines. It is also used for brake lines where a lot of fluid is displaced (such as drum brake systems).
-6 size is commonly used in power steering systems.
