Brand: SPA Design Racing Products

Superb quality, virtually no play, used by many F1 and F3 constructors! Aluminum construction except for the steel core which gets welded and/or pinned to the steering shaft. The outside diameter of the core is 5/8" to slip into a matching hole in the steering column. If the steering column is also 5/8 inch OD, just add a sleeve over both. Attaches to steering wheel with a 50mm three hole pattern using 10-32 bolts (furnished). Special asymmetric spline allows mating in only one orientation so you will never end up with a cock-eyed steering wheel. Releases with a spring loaded sliding sleeve with four locking balls. 20mm splines. FIA and SFI approved.

Note: This item is not compatible with the "Racetech" brand hub.

We now offer the same SPA F-1 Quick-Release Steering Hub with a 1" diameter shaft.

Comments about F-1 Splined Quick Release Steering Hub, 5/8" Shaft:

I use this product in Formula Ford and Formula Continental cars. I use open top (non continuous) steering wheels, so correct orientation is very important for me. Some many of the quick disconnect systems do not have a unique spline to ensure correct wheel orientation. I am retro fitting one of my cars, so I wanted to be able to move wheels between the two cars. The only thing I don't like about this product is the price.
