The patent-pending material uses surface tension to wick fuel to a central reservoir pocket while sealing off any pores not in contact with fuel. As long as some part of the Hydramat is in contact with fuel, your fuel pump will be able to pick it up. Hydramat even acts as a 15 micron pre-filter to protect your pump!
