AiM GPS Modules and Antennas
Which one do I need?
AiM EVO4S, EVO5, MXL2, MXG, MXP, MXS (including all MX-Series Strada dashes), and SmartyCam HD GP 2.2 take the GPS09 Module (MC-751 or MC-752).* These have a 5-pin screw-in connector that plugs into the EXP or GPS port or the EXP lead in the wiring harness.
AiM MXL Strada / Pista / Pro / Pro05, EVO3 logger, and MyChron4 kart dash can use the GPS08 (MC-257 or MC-258) as well as the original GPS Module or GPS05. The GPS09 Module does not work with these older systems.
AiM EVO4 only uses the MC-275 or MC-276 GPS Antenna. This has a unique grey plastic connector.
AiM SmartyCam HD (all versions with the viewscreen on the front, with the lens) and SmartyCam HD GP (up to 2.1 only) can use the GPS09 Module (MC-751 or MC-752) if you add the GPS to SmartyCam Data Hub. This has a 4-pin screw-in connector that plugs into the GPS port. (The SmartyCam-specific GPS09B is no longer available.)
The original AiM SmartyCam (silver and black rubber with the view screen on top) takes the MC-425 SmartyCam GPS Antenna. This has a 4-pin screw-in connector that plugs into the GPS port. (Note that very early SmartyCams did not have a GPS port.)
The original GPS Module (formerly Part No. MC-312, available until 2010) used the MC-338 GPS Antenna connected to a base module. This has a unique grey plastic connector. (Note that very early GPS Modules had a different metal connector.)
Solo/Solo2, MyChron5, MXm, and MX-UTV do not use an external GPS receiver at all. The GPS receiver is internal.
* New EVO4S/EVO5 and MX-series loggers include a GPS09 Module. Strada dashes and SmartyCam HD GP 2.2 do not.
