FIA-Approved Harnesses
The FIA 8853/2016 standard is the latest and the toughest standard for driver safety harnesses published by the FIA. This standard is accepted in most forms of road racing around the world, including SCCA and IMSA.
ALL FIA 8853/2016 harnesses are 6-point (dual sub straps). This is a requirement of the FIA standard.
ALL shoulder straps have pull-down adjustment. This has been the standard design for well over 50 years.
All of the FIA harnesses we carry have a rotary ("T-type") Camlock buckle.
Production of harnesses to the 8853/98 standard was phased out beginning in 2018, but 8853/98 harnesses will continue to be legal to use until they expire.
