Hoods (Balaclavas) & Helmet Skirts
Flame-resistant hoods, also known as balaclavas or head socks, can prevent critical facial burns. Many sanctioning bodies require a fire-retardant balaclava even if the helmet has a flame-resistant lining. All drivers with long hair or facial hair should wear balaclavas.
The OMP Disposable Balaclavas are specifically for karting, autocross, and other events using "loaner" helmets. These inexpensive balaclavas are designed to protect the helmet liner, not the driver.
