Mechanical Temperature Gauge Adapters
These adapters are all designed to accept either the 5/8-18 thread found on Auto Meter and Stewart-Warner mechanical temperature gauges, or the 3/8 BSP thread used on Racetech and Smiths gauges.
Note that the 3/8 BSP thread is very close to 5/8-18. The thread pitch is very close (19 threads per inch for BSP vs. 18 threads per inch for 5/8-18). 3/8 BSP has a slightly larger thread diameter (0.67" nominal OD) than 5/8-18 (0.625" nominal OD). A 5/8-18 fitting may thread into a 3/8 BSP hole, but it will be loose.
