Tilton 3000-Series Hydraulic Release Bearings
3-Leg bulkhead mount
The compact 3000-Series hydraulic release bearings from Tilton can be adapted to a wide range of applications. The 3-leg design has a 3x3" bolt circle for mounting to a bulkhead or plate inside the bellhousing. The interchangeable piston and bearing allow one base to work with just about any racing clutch.
Always use a clutch pedal stop with an HRB! Overtravel of the pedal causes a huge spike in line pressure. This can be strong enough to destroy clutch fingers. Even worse, it can push the crankshaft forward and grind up the thrust bearings. This can quickly lead to a loss of oil pressure and a loss of an engine.
Bearing sizes:
38mm is for Tilton OT-III (5.5") and OT-IV (4.5") racing clutches, as well as some AP carbon-carbon clutches.
44mm is for Tilton OT-II (7.25") and most Quartermaster 4.5", 5.5", and 7.25" racing clutches.
52mm is for Tilton 8.5" and most AP 4.5", 5.5", and 7.25" racing clutches.
Using a larger-diameter bearing than recommended will increase pedal effort.

Tilton's Flow Control Valve reduces the shock loads on the drivetrain by slowing the release on your hydraulic clutch. Fluid flows freely in one direction, allowing quick disengagement. |
